Kate + James + Yosemite = Save the Date!

Hello, hello!

I've been busy like a whirling dervish lately, but the results are GREAT! I'm working a lot and producing work that I love, including...

SAVE THE DATE POSTCARDS FOR KATE & JAMES!

The illustration was a combo effort – I pulled together the background and asked Kate to draw herself and James – she has always done such a great job at illustrating people in a fun, beautiful way, so I thought that she should DEFINITELY be the person to draw the two of them. I think it looks great, and it's the first combo effort from the two of us since high school (maybe even ever!). I love her – I'm so happy to be her maid of honor!

Next up for Kate & James from me: INVITATIONS!

Next up for me in the freelancing world: a meeting with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra to design for their upcoming gala!

Next up for this blog: a posting of beautiful gifts from my birthday & Christmas – I'm a lucky girl with talented and loving friends & family!

What I've been working on...

Hello friends! I haven't been here for awhile and I was feeling a twinge guilty and a lot nostalgic!

So, I'm back! One week before I start my new job in marketing and five days until I see Kate Clements (soon to be Sloan!)!!!

I've been interviewing and getting ready for transition at work, but more importantly (and more AWESOMELY) I've been working on Kate's wedding collateral!

Here's a sneak peek at her colors, and I promise to post more of what I've been working on after approval from the bride.

We've been inspired by the talented Anna Bond and by WPA poster art, so look forward to the outcome!

Goodnight all!

Bake Me Happy!

These are the initial sketches for a new Columbus Gluten-free Bakery called, "Bake Me Happy"

Wendy, the proprietor, liked the last one on the right but wanted to make tweaks, so here is the second round (just finished moments ago!).

I hope she's happy with one of them. I like the simplicity of the top option, but we'll see what she thinks!

Now, I'm off to work on my cousin's tattoo!

Well, well, well - look who it is...

I'm back!

I want to share a little of what I've been working on lately, so here goes:

This is a sampling of the logos I conjured up for my friend Linda. She needs a new resume and portfolio and liked that mine "have the same theme across all of them" - so I told her that it's because I branded myself and I could brand her too, so I did!

We bought Silver Thread (J.Crew's most recent featured font) and ended up with this look:

I'm pretty pleased with it over all!

Tomorrow (or later tonight) I'll post my "Bake Me Happy" logo sketches!

See you soon, bloggers!

So, I know I keep saying this, but...

I promise a good, picture-y post soon. I'm illegally (not really) writing this from my desk at work in full anticipation of leaving here and heading here:

So, hopefully I'll have even MORE photos and short stories upon my return.

Happy Labor Day!
